if the krag action was mine and a 6,5x55 military rifle was there I would build a classic hunting rifle in 8x54 like this http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=185565&an=0&page=0#Post185565
yes it have the sweet taste of being different, unique and rare
a M 98 military barrel in 8x57 IS can maybe change into a krag barrel in 8x54 by a competent gunsmith and lathe operator
