I recently read a post somewhere about converting one of those 30'06 Baikal doubles to a flanged cartridge.
The man used 7X65R brass and reformed it to match the 30'06 dimensions and just had to change the extractor for the rimmed case. So, what he ended up with was a 30'06 rimmed loaded to the same specs as the regular cartridge so no further regulation was required and he could reload using the regular dies.
Really a pretty neat project.
No "charisma" in that though...
