According to a St Petersburg, Russia friend, the Baikals used to be crap, but have improved to be strong, butt ugly. Unfortunately, they are not made in dangerous game calibers.

The early Searcy's were made off of shotgun frames. These may not keep their value as the current production which keep their value very well. PH model is $9500.

I agree with Ray, stay with rimmed cartridges. The 375H&H/416Rigby/458Winmag standard rounds are high pressure. The old Nitro cartridges are much better in a double.
