I'm going to try and repost my photos as Buchseman suggested. I have a question about the proof on the side of the receiver. You can see in the photo that the rifle was originally proofed at 2.67 gG.B.P. but later reproofed at 2.45 gG.B.P. When I bought this rifle it had a set of claw mounts on it that I removed. The front mount is about 2" wide and made the rifle uncomfortable to carry. The scope mounts were added sometime after the rifle was built. Did it have to be reproofed since the mount was dovetailed into the receiver ring? There are no numbers on the bottom flat of the receiver behind the recoil lug of on the back of the magazine box as I've read elswhere that an Oberndorf Mauser commercial action should have. I'm dating the action by the type of firing pin it has to 1905 or earlier. Military action probably wouldn't have been avaliable that early and Mauser patents were still valid. So, what do I have, I was told on another forum that it wasn't a commercial Mauser action.
