Thanks to Bob for starting this post and the great complements. This was the first shoelump that I actually completed and it has some minor issues. I don't have a problem if Bob wants to post what he paid for this rifle, but I gave Bob a "one-time" discount, since this was the first "customer" shoelump that I have done. Bob's price was a bit better than I will extend again.

I really like everything about shoelumps. Better barrel contours and, as already mentioned above, no seams to hide. They take that same amount of work to fit to the action as a monoblock and that is where real work/expense comes into play. I have another shoelump project that is coming along very well - a second set of barrels for an I. Hollis 500/465. This is a vintage gun built around 1915, and the customer wants a second set of barrels for it in 450 #2. Two reasons for this: 1, The 450 #2 shoots a .458 bullet and has a better variety/manufacturers of bullets, and the availability of cheaper "dirt bank bullets" (there is only one bullet available in .465); 2, he can shoot monolithic solids without concern of damaging his "vintage" barrels.
