Hog pilot,

Went up yesterday and polluted the air with some lead at $5.60/gallon. My fun flights seem to get shorter and shorter.

I think the F/A 18 is one of the coolest jets around. I saw one at a demonstration flight and the slow high alpha pass is unbelievable. If I try that with my Bonanza it will overheat (exceed 400 F CHT) in a heartbeat. At full power I need a minimum of 120 mph for cooling. I can do slow flight (< 90 mph) at 60% with the gear up, but once the gear is down I better be landing or it takes too much power to overcome the drag. With a high performance piston engine heat management becomes very important if you expect to get any life out of the cylinders.

I love the 757. I think its the best looking airliner with those long landing gear and slender fuselage.
