Australian beers to try ...

James Boag from Tasmania;

Coopers from South Australia - Coopers Sparkling Ale, Coopers Bitter - Coopers are available in the USA, not sure which states though. They have quite an export market also for home brew kits;

there is a brand of beer in Australia with the name "Hahn" - you can't go wrong with that name on the beer eg "Long Brew";

another SA brewery makes the Southwark Premium brand which also good;

Vic Bitter is drinkable even if it comes from Victoria

Gryph's story about rubber boots (Wellingtons etc) brought to mind a story. When I attended High School I had a lot of friends in the agriculture class (a "stream" of study with an emphasis on agricultural studies - "agates"). Their teacher was a bit of an idiot and he could never work out why they all used to laugh at him when he went to check the school's sheep. He also used to don rubber boots before heading out to the paddock
