I've only been running 160gr. and 270gr. TSX's at 2,700fps plus change and the Barnes TSX's haven't metal fouled at all in my barrels. That was in my factory 7x57 BRNO and the .375/06IMP only, though. A pair of rifles is no base for a meaningful test, however, the .375 fouls with 300gr. RN's at just under 2,500fps, yet didn't with the TSX at over 200fps greater speed.

Although they'd probably be excellent for smaller, lighter game, I think I'd have a difficult time shooting a 165gr. bullet in an 8mm. or .338. To me, that's a small case .308 cal. deer/black-bear, goat, sheep etc. bullet weight.

Friend of mine took his mule deer, moose and elk last fall, all with 165gr. TSX's, launched from his .30/06 in Fed. high energy loads - somewhere around 2,900fps MV. He didn't want to shoot handloads and we discovered the Fusion and TSX both shot under 1/2" in his new stainless, walnut stocked Remington - a nice looking rifle. The elk was over 400yards - laser rangefinder. In the .30/06, the .165gr.
TSX a deer, moose and elk bullet, for sure.

So - perhaps they'd be just fine, Neale - but 165 is pretty light for a .32 cal bullet, just the same, imho.
