Certainly a M88, not a Vegueiro. Why? Beside the left knee you can see the protuding magazine of the comission rifle. On the Vegueiro receiver and bolt were blued. No pistol grip, but straight stock. The rear sight is not hidden in part by the long wood handguard of the Portuguese rifle, running from receiver to lower band.
