Mannlicher peep sight...

After all these years,I have gotten a good Mannlicher carbine with a Peep sight installed.It also has a G&H side mount,but my question is how good are these sights? Do they stay set? I'll have to use the larger of the two holes with my eyes,but it seens a neat sight...
