I am saying that a good shooter should be able to reload and be ready to fire in 3-4 seconds. He should go from recovering from recoil, to breaking the rifle, reloading both barrels, closing the action and mounting for a shot in that time. Did I explain it right?

At, say 5 yards, one aimed round could probably be off also.

This assumes a wide open level area and no fumbling.

The O/U has to be broken open farther (wider) and there is a much greater chance of the ejectors, or the extractors if you rotate, allowing the bottom case to hit the standing breech and bounce back into the chamber.

But you know all this as you have undoubtedly already done it on your new wundershooter.
