Without expert evaluation, I'd leave it at 14 inches and see how it goes, and shorten it later if you need to.

A longer pull sometimes reduces felt recoil. With heavy double rifles I think a shorter pull makes the rifle feel lighter when mounted because there's less leverage against your arms.
