Ok. I'm also looking at a Leupold VX-III 1.5-5 scope with an illuminated reticle. According to Leupold, even if the battery dies, or its turned off,the cross hairs are black and still visible. My concern is their reliability(ie their actual electronics, wires, connections etc.) under the recoil of my .416 Rigby. Also, how thick are the illuminated dots/cross hairs compared to standard reticles.? I haven't found any one who has actually use one. I'd like to hear from anyone who has. And any input is appreciated.
