John, I've got a reprint of an old Jeffery catalog somewhere in my books and will post some of the prices when I find it.
My 1896 8-bore ball and shot gun sold for 35. In Cal Pappas' book on 600 Nitros he shows Jeffery double selling from 35-105 and single shots from 16-31. Some of the "cheap" 35 pound rifles look pretty darned spectacular to me, and makes me wonder what you got for 105!
Ammo listed at 23-28 per 1000. I'd guess a 1000 rounds of kynoch today would set you back at least $30k, chump change compared to the cost of 1000 elephants and buff to shoot it at.
