The History of Barrel Porting?
      25/06/10 12:02 AM

I'm curious if anyone knows when gunsmiths (or manufacturers) started experimenting with porting barrels (i.e., muzzle brakes). Larry Kelly, the founder of Mag-na-Port, apparently started doing his thing in the late 1950's or early 1960's. The idea had already been applied to tanks & artillery pieces before then...just wondering if other 'smiths/makers were experimenting on small arms too.
