No, kiwibloke! As they are part of the proofmarks, their use is prescribed by law, as noted above:
A=0, B=1, C=2, D=3, E=4, F=5, G=6, H=7, I=8, K=9. J is not used. So "BA" instead of "10" stands for 2010, "BAF" for "105" for May 2010.Of course, as stated above, not all manufacturers have the proof dates obscured by the letter code.
