Hi Ann,

It would be wise to seek the advice of a health care professional, orthopedic surgeon or PM&R doctor before you go ahead and work with your bow strengthening your shoulder. I say this because you say you have been diagnosed with an impingement.

Both of my shoulders are impinged. I had one repaired and it is now better than it has been in years. Impingement is not something that can necessarily be fixed by using it more. My experience is it gets worse. I am back to shooting at 60 pounds. There are days when it is not happy after overwork the day prior. I am trying to remember to take it easy as I get older. I am heading back to Africa this year and will hopefully be drawing back a lot of times!
