it would not surprise you that there is a law in germany, telling you how big the diameter of bullets have to be!
for the 9x56 MS and the 9x57M maximum bullet diameter is 9.08mm. that means it can also be smaller than 9,08mm
my own M 88 in 9x57 have a 9.09 mm barrel and like .357 revolver bullets very much
