Hi Ann ! I would try to get my shoulder working again before switching to the other shoulder. Don`t forget that it is very difficult to aim with the non-leading eye, if not impossible.
I have treated many patients with impingement syndromes of the shoulder joint and usually it is best to examine the shoulder with techniques of manual therapy. Often the caput humeri (the head of the upper arm bone) is not centered in the concave pan of the scapula (the shoulder blade). A manual therapist can easily examine it and, if needed, mobilize the caput humeri downwards and/or backwards. After that You have to learn to keep the caput humeri centered in the pan during movements, not easy but also far from impossible. Also the scapula has to be in the correct position, a good physiotherapist will help You to get it done.
Additionally, deep frictions of the affected tendons (most often the tendon of the m. supraspinatus) help to get rid of pain and to encourage the body to start a healing process of the affected structures.
