How To Tune a Shoulder?

OK archers, I've had some unwanted time off from archery practice. I have at best an impinged right shoulder. I've been given some physical therapy excersises for this and will work on strengthening the muscles around the joint. My worry is the damage is too much and am looking for advise. What has helped you tune back up from a shoulder injury?

I'm also thinking about learning- retraining to shoot left handed. Anyone ever tried that and had success? That's my last choice as it means having to buy a new bow.
