Quote: There is a bracken fern patch about 60 yards away that if I can get off my lazy ring could sit in with the 22 and head shoot them as they come out of their burrow`s,no meat damage for those that like a roast rabbit.
My old mate Bob did the same thing when I pointed out a heap of rabbits one arvo,he went back and shot 60 off a large warren later that evening.
Mmmmmm, my dog and I both like rabbit to eat. He prefers his a little rarer though.
Rabbit in casserole, also cooked with cream. Yum.
Never tried roast rabbit yet, do they Weber well?
Regarding large warrens, if one is lucky to find a big one, and somewhere rarely hunted, sitting still near it, with a .22 and popping the nasty bunnies as they come out repeatedly in the morning or late afternoon is very productive.
However I have never shot 60 unless spotlighting in good station country. Nothing like those numbers at home.
