Well after much searching around the net I was sent the name of Sako`s resident Chief Gunsmith...his complete answer to my q`s is this un-edited reply below...a few excuses for using his non native language.


Your rifle is definitely made by Sako,receiver is millet from same cold hammer forced steel block than TRG sniper rifle.

Production of M-995 begins in 1992 and stop 2004.Sako and Tikka rifles are made in same factory and same production line but in different price level and more simple designs in Tikka rifles.
