Butch will regulate his rifles at whatever load (that is, whatever "safe" load) you wish.

Since I reload, and since I don't like fillers, Woodleighs at 2250 fps or so is what he recommended. His load of 108 grains of IMR4831 about fills up the Norma brass and Federal 215's lights up the powder just fine. You can see the accuracy in the above pictures. I wouldn't recommend it for anything but a Searcy, however.. and a late model one at that. I believe that Ray Atkinson had his Searcy so regulated, but found a "lesser" load that gives him 2080 fps and the same accuracy.. and about 2/3's the recoil. Old men need help.

I looked up the load I quoted above in the A-Square manual. It lists the resultant velocity at less than 2200 fps. Must be lots of difference in A-Square brass and Norma, or Woodleighs and Dead Toughs, or both, huh?

This must be a miss type, the above load of 108 grains of IMR4831 would come no where near the 2000+FPS with a 750 grn bullet. My own test have shown nothing short of at least 130 grains will produce those velocities...in a .577 2.75"NE. Nor would this load fill the case. If this was your load, I'd chrono it and or check the barrels bore and grove for correct specs.

Possibly you/he meant RL15?
