Boy, you're one lucky man. A darned fine rifle. The chip should be "relatively" easy to repair. Might the other leaf spring be an ejector spring? If the gun has Southgate ejectors, that would seem possible.If you read Saul Braceras's book, "The Express Rifle", among all of the double rifles which he owns, he clearly has a weakness for VS's work.
