I have one on the wall {elk/wapiti} above me a lot like the one just shot.

Few here have anything like the bulbs that your red deer develop but the body size of our elk appear bigger on average than the one in the first picture. IIRC, red deer {hirsch, stag, hjort} do indeed go a bit smaller in body size.

You have a very good thing going there.

On a side note, most hunting here is done by individuals or small groups and even when done in groups is relatively haphazard. Hunting is an individual thing in many ways here. There it appears, as often in Europe and elsewhere, that hunting is done among larger groups of people.

Can you tell us how many are in your "club"/"team" and what the success rate would be? Here, traditionally, success rates for hunters hunting elk runs about 30-33 percent, meaning in the course of ten years the "average" hunter kills about 3 elk*. What would it be there?

Also, are your hunters required to leave their trophies at the clubhouse/lodge or do they take them home?

* I note "traditionally" because success rates are predicted to plummet this year due to devastating damage to herds by wolves. Game commissioner I spoke to the other day says in the area he hunts they are not even seeing elk, much less nice bulls. Unless radical change occurs, our traditions, customs and heritage are destroyed. If I remember correctly, you fellows manage all predators including wolves there.
