In the USA:

Contact your homeowner insurance provider/agent.

Many homeowner policies provide very broad personal liability coverage and may provide coverage for such accidents under their personal liability Section 2 coverages.

Another question to ask your agent is whether or not there is any exclusion for commercial/business activity during which such an accident may occur. Many homeowner policies have broad exclusions for business activity. For example, your policy might provide coverage if you are hunting in Africa on vacation but might exclude coverage {i.e., NOT provide coverage} if you are videoing or writing up the hunt for sale or publication or using the hunt for any business purpose whatsoever.

A suit may not have to occur before payment would be made. The broad liability coverages provided by many insurance policies cover negligent acts and the legal liability that arises from such acts. Such a contract allows for payment for legal liability without a suit being filed. A suit might be filed by one or more individuals if a dispute over legal liability arises. Criminal acts are very likely to be excluded.

It is impossible to state categorically what event or incident might trigger a lawsuit, but many homeowner policies stipulate the duty to defend owed the insured by the company underwriting the policy.

Time to call your agent!!!

Coverage for an injured employee provided by his employer is a completely different issue. In the USA, Workers Compensation insurance is the type commonly carried {or in some cases required by law to be carried} by employers. Once you leave the USA, it is anybody's guess whether an employer carries a similar coverage or whether such coverage is provided by a national health care system. It is possible that in some cases the employer is self-insured to provide medical or other coverage for indemnification of injured workers. Other countries have different systems and/or laws governing legal liability, indemnification, medical costs, pain and suffering, etc, etc. Whatever nationality you are, don't think what IS "here" IS "some place else".

In today's "open border" world it is easy to think that things are the same everywhere a guy puts a boot on the ground.

Suffice it to say; They are NOT.
