410 GA slugs in M6 springfield

Hi
i have tested a variety of 410 gauge slugs in my M6 22 lr/410 combination gun. i can get get very decent groups up to 40 meter range with slugs from rem , win , federal all 5 shots 3-4 inches best accuracy from remington and worst from federal. but federal 1/4 ounce slugs penetrate nearly twice as rem 1/5 ounce slugs. my question is what these slugs could realy be good for in survival or hunting big game condition or defens against predators?
