A friend steered me to this site - WOW!
I've ordered a couple boxes of 16 bore brass - only $21.00 per box of 25 - couldn't believe it - along with some other stuff . I can see this site is going to keep me quite broke - about where I already am so I'm used to it.

Now I need to get that Husky 17B or 17A operational. The right tube, with the rifled larger barrel is .670" on the bore and .703" groove diameter. The note on the Husky Museum site said RB and black powder was the normal load for the straight and twist rifled 20, 24 and 28 bores. There is no mention of a 13 bore right barrel, but they do mention brass cases were used for the rifled tube. This would keep it simple to separate ammo, paper or plastic(modern) for the left full choked tube and brass for the rifled one. I already have a .684" mould that engraves 1/2 depth of the lands so I'll be trying them first. I may have to order a new RB mould from Jeff Tanner to cast closer to groove diameter ball - maybe not. I've sure the straight rifling is only ment to prevent spinning inside the barrel and this will be ackomplished with the lighter .684" balls that only engrave part way. Too, the smaller, lighter ball will admit to a higher velocity. 466gr. in WW and 482gr. in pure lead should be OK, power wise . Gonna be fun!
