In my opinion, the problem is not the chambering but the design of the Encore stock. The design turns your hand upright and does not allow for a good smooth "roll" with reciol. I have a 7 pound .375 H + H with a Classic stock that recoils much lighter than an Encore with a 30-06 barrel.
