I have 3 Nikon scopes, the first one I bought the salesman handed me a variable power Leopold and the variable power Nikon and ask me to compare them side by side. I honestly couldn't tell the difference in picture clarity between them. It's been on my .243 for about 5 years now and it gets used year round in all kinds of weather and conditions. The rifle it is on sits by my back door so I can grab it on my way out, it rides around in the truck when I'm out in the field so it gets bounced around pretty good. I've used it in probably the worst extremes, like the heater running in the truck and then immediately jump out into 10 below weather and it has never fogged up on me and it's still shooting the same zero it shot when I first sighted it in. The other 2 I have are fixed power and one is on a .270 and the other is on 30-06 and they have all performed equally well. In my opinion the Nikon scopes are a good buy for the price.
