Something I have found useful for many jobs is switch plate lubricant. In Australia it is brand-named ROCOL, and comes in a yellow spray can. It is graphite based and used by railway maintenance crews for lubing track points.
Few words of warning, it can be very messy to apply, so you may need to mask around things, or dismantle them before applying. Once it is on and drying it is very hard to clean up.
It has never adversly affected anything I have used it on, but it COULD damage some plastics, so use care and test on anything when using for the first time.
It sprays wet, but dries fairly quickly, leaving a grey/black coating. It is one of the most slippery dry coatings I have found, stands up well to heavy presure, and reduces pick-up and galling on too tight or badly machined surfaces to just about zerro.
You may be able to score a part can from a railworker if you are nice.
