However, if I open any one of those posts, then hit the "back" button when finished, the site now displays topics in what seems to be a totally random fashion, with no chronology at all. On the topic of each forum column, the column header can be used to reorder the threads. Click on it once and an arrow will appear beside it. Click again and the order will be reversed.

eg if you can you see the posts with the most number of views/posts you can click on those columns.

Same with date of last posting, oldest or newest.
