Great Photo's!! These were the ones I searched for but couldn't find.

As the picture clearly shows(and what Larcher noted previously) any shot above the level of the eyes can be real trouble. The brain is at the level of the orbits with a horizontal skull and in so many game animal video's the hunters bullet tends to land a bit high. Plus the head is moving abit if the animal is charging as well.Not Good!! Anyway--a high "brain shot" could miss the brain and hit non critical bone/horn structures. Could even get you killed!!

If you shoot lower than the eye level horizontal at the nose you could get the brain/brainstem/spine or the cervical skeletal structures in the neck.With a big bore one hopes that that the impact shock should stop a charge, but??

So is the best frontal brain shot somewhat deceiving by the brain outline on the Robinson book?? With the position of the skull with an animal grazing(vertical skull orientation) one should even be shooting ABOVE the level of the eyes to hit the brain.

So is the best shot an "above the nose" but "below the eyes" shot on a charging animal?? Would a "nose shot" be more effective hitting critical structures on a charge?

Of interest additionally-and as John has said in past posts--there is no good lateral brain shot due to the horns!!

I say all this but I have never shot a Buff or cow either.Experience always trumps conjecture.If I am off base someone please correct me--
