I agree. One thing is for sure, what works well at the range may not be optimal for hunting. I mostly use my spotters at the range. I hunt thick cover and binoculars work for me. I do know that even at the range it depends on a few things. We have two style of shooting benches at our club. One is a tee shaped affair and a straight spooter can be set up directly in front of you and works fine. On the other bench that lacks the front area its hard to get down and see through the spotter, and an angled would probably be better. I would like to try an angled scope myself. I see alot of the guys setting up on a full size tripod and putting it to the left (right hand shooter) and simply turning and looking into the angled eyepeice. Mine is on a bench tripod and sometimes I have to move it to shoot and reset it to spot the shot. Kind of a hassle.
