I have a 550 in 6.5x55. I believe that the action is the same one used for the long magnums, but regardless, I had no trouble mounting a scope with a wide objective lense and QD mounts. No troubles were encountered, and I mount my scopes pretty far forward.

Warne QD's were used.

Question on your 550--I come across one in the local sport shop--has a full length stock--fits like a dream--has a set trigger---did some investigating on line and see it comes in 9.3x62 as well as 30-06 and 270...

Is yours with the full length stock?? I was thinking of getting one for Africa in the 9.3x62 Caliber..possibly throw a q/d mounted scope on it --not that familiar with that caliber..however reading on it --it has good stuff written about it since its introduction in 1905...

Whatever info you have woud be greatly appreciated...
