The current action is not original.
Original .404 Jeffs' had the right side of the ejection port removed to facilitate loading and ejection - that is why the wood is recessed at the rear of the port. Bouldersmith's replacement action will be altered in the same way Jeffery did to theirs. In the end, the action will match the wood contour as it should.
