The 2.5-8x35mm VX-III is such a fine hunting scope I feel no need for improvement. Probably sometime I will try a 1.5-5x20mm VX-III (also $400), because I like the looks of the straight tube on some classically-styled guns. However, in my opinion, higher-priced scopes offer no meaningful advantage over Leupold VX-III scopes.
