Not a collector as such but sold a couple in the past
for people - more like matched up a seller and buyer !

Great guns, love them, would own one myself if I could.

Funny ol world I too have a Fraser double in 450/400 3 1/4"! Its a sidelock ejector made for one of the Raja's, 1904 gun. My smith is restocking it, and bringing it back to life. Can't wait! In the meantime I have been playing with two 1880 sidelevers, in 22 hornet (miniature frame), and 303 British. I just got the 303 from Julia's auction last week.

Fraser was a prodigy gunmaker and rifle shot!

If any members here have quality Fraser's they have been thinking about parting with, either doubles, or sidelevers, PM me please to discuss.

Fraser is my most favorite maker (whom I can't afford) - his single shots are magnificent and his doubles twice so! My only Fraser at the moment is a bit unusual as it's half of a Henry-Fraser trade pattern Snider. The lock is marked Alex Henry and the barrel is marked D.Fraser, Lieth Terrace, Edinburgh. A side lever of sorts...

That sounds really neat.

Dan'l Fraser and Henry were close friends, so it makes sense they made a few treasures together.

Good hunting!

Interesting Fraser Ball and Shot gun:

Scroll down to see it.
I've seen many Fraser singles and a few doubles, but never a true ball and shot gun. This is a fairly plain gun though.

That is an interesting gun. The markings are in the correct places, and the proper cartouche with the makers name is there for that action. This is a VERY rare gun! I wish it was an ejector gun, and best quality engraved..

If it had a pistol grip, it would be mine!
Nothing is inherently wrong with the straight grip, mind you, it just looks too much like an altered shotgun - although in this case, that IS half of its intended duties.
Somebody here should pick this one up...
Still, it is $7K

They seem to have some really neat stuff. Do you know if they ship to the US? Dave

I have never dealt with him - seems pretty America friendly though - kind of a rockabilly style guy.
There is a section on his site covering export of arms too.
He does have a lot of neat stuff - looks like a lot of project type stuff though. Even with the exchange rate killing us Americans, seems his pricing is right.

I love Frasers though I only own 2 at this time, a 1880 303 built in 1899 and bpe 450 1885. I think Fraser was perhaps best known for these single shots. I have seen a few doubles but they are rare too.
