Members here may have seen this rifle before when WV Fred posted it. Don S recently acquired it and it now resides in his collection.

Thanks Fred, I really like this Type G Mauser. It has an unusual 5X scope and magnum proof not seen too often. I'm trying to decipher it's history through the barrel markings with the help of Jon Speed.

Beautiful classic rifle & caliber. I like the full length stock, double triggers & the caliber. It must be a great gun to hunt with. Congratulations Don.
