Can't help you. I've only seen pictures in COA. It seems to have plenty of poop for small game though.

As for small game, it'd make a fine rabbit rifle

, some might say that 600gr. bullet was overkill though

This old wildcat cartridge has been around for years. In terms of muzzle energy, it claimed over 10,000 ft pounds at the muzzle. P.O. Ackley's books had loading information on this and other cartridges. One must be very careful with Ackley's loading data as it was generally on the HOT side. I know this from experience as I built a 450 Ackley magnum and used his loading data. I had to back off the powder charge as it was really creating pressure problems.

My book is showing 3 different bullets and loads using 3031 powder. The 400gr. bullet shows 9034ft. lbs energy, 500gr. 9900ft.lbs. and the 600gr. at 8040ft. lbs. just those three are pretty damn close to that 10,000lb. mark. As for Ackley's loads, I didn't know that. Might save me from blowing up a rifle if was ever to have to reload for one, thanks. Mickey guess a guy would want to headshoot if he wanted to eat any of that rabbit

Is it not an early version of the .470 Capstick, if not is darn close...A hot rodded .470 N.E. and that ain't yo daddys rifle..
