First Game Preparations
      #76293 - 13/04/07 01:36 AM

Hello

I begin the preparations of my first game in Africa, and I'm not decided as for my rifle. I'm just sure it will built on a Mauser action. So I have 6 questions which require an answer :
1)Which are the differences between the 416 Rem. Mag and the 416 Rigby ? Can I fire the one in the chamber of the other one?
2)Which are the differences between the 375 H&H and the 375 Flanged ? Can I fire the one in the chamber of the other one?
3)Can I shot a 458 Win. Mag in the chamber of a 458 Lott ?
4)Are the BRNO rifles still product ? It seems to be very good rifles.
5)Are ejectors very superior than extractors with regard to safety, speed of reloading ?
6)Are twin triguers very superior than mono triguer with regard to safety, speed to reshoot ?

Thank you in advance for the answers
Cordially

1) No, the Rem cartridge is much shorter and belted whereas the Rigby is magnum length and unbelted. Same ballistics.

2) One is for rifles and doubles with a belted (H&H) and the other is exclusively for doubles (Flanged) and they're not interchangeable.

3) Yes

4) No, they're not in production any longer.

5) It depends on the individual user. For double rifles, the ejector is quicker for a reload but a little more difficult to open some actions.

6) Again, for double rifle users, it depends on the individual as to preference.

I wouldn't call myself knowledgeable. I'm just a gun nut from the time I was 12 yrs old. I'm soon to be 59 and have had the chance to play with a bunch of guns, that's all.
