Very interesting Mehul. Hambrusch is certainly a very innovative man with his "Hambrusch Safety Sidelock System".

good looking piece, but i think the hammers located as they are would give a guy a problem getting them both pulled back fast.

I think you are supposed to carry that gun with the hammers cocked and locked, in the same way you would carry a sidelock gun with concealed hammers.

I don't know. Looks cool but that little groove in front of the hammers looks like Murphy's Law ready to happen.

I'm all for innovation, but this object goes a bit further than I am willing to be led.

Great to look at, though!

As they are marketing it as the Hambrusch "safety" Sidelock system I am guessing they mean it to be cocked only when about to shoot. Otherwise the "safety" issue is no different to any other cocked double.

As Curl says, interesting to look at, but if a double has hammers, it is VERY traditional, and I think the normal hammers would have so much more appeal for the guys wanting a double with hammers.

I'm guessing they defintitely don't re-cock on opening either, so slower reloading in a hurry.

Since both of the ones pictured are in medium calibers, I'd think these might be intended for the high-end European market. Perhaps for driven game?

There is a move afoot in Europe to require decocking loaded firearms.

That is a bit of a worry if a lot of traditional doubles get overly complicated safety/de-cocking systems.

Good to have some choice I think.

This system is more than 100 years old. Ambrusch ( a fine gunmaker, no doubt about that) has been making these for years. I see no use in this kind of "safe system".

I have always found that pushing the safety off and pulling the trigger gets the gun de-cocked right away.

What they really ought to work on is banning cigarettes.

This is the Kronengewehr system, invented by Gustav Fükert in Weipert (Bohemia) more than 100 years ago.
