My dealer said I will have 9.3 in 3
weeks that was 4/21/6. That is ok
with me. I am not going to hold my
breath.
This is the point I request pet loads,
etc. Is Norma ammunition worth 2X
the price of S&B ? I really just want
brass. Thanks for 9.3 info in advance.

Raven
Sorry for the delayed reply.
My 9,3 is a double rifle. I use 65 gr of IMR 4831 with 286gr bullets. I get around 2225fps or so. It has worked perfectly on all manner of game to include giraffe cape buffalo and elephants.
You could load a little faster in a No1, not that it is necessary.

BFaucett is correct.

A No.1 in 300 H&H is cool. I have one.

Ruger did a special run of No.1-Ss, chambered for Holland's "Super 30," in 1990 or 91.

Mine's very accurate, and that 26" tube helps crank up the velocity a bit.

Personally, I'd like to see Ruger do a run of No.1-As in the classic .303 Brit cartridge. Should be good for all NA game, except the really large Bruins. Maybe also a Tropical in .404 Jeffrey. (They did a limited run of 404s a while back, but I've read where their barrel diameters were incorrect).

Nick,

Why don't you get one in .450/.400 3" Jeffery? That's the newest thing, and the caliber is nothing but super.

They are also making the No. 1 in 9.3x74R.

Hornady is loading the 9.3x74R, as well as, the 450/400. They would make interesting chamberings for a Ruger #1.
I'd like one in .333 Flanged, or 400/350 Rigby. Either would be perfect for NA game.
