All,
On Friday night a mad man ran in front of my brother, Bonanza, while he was traveling down an 8 lane highway. He was on his motorcycle at the time traveling 65 MPH when he hit the individual. He was thrown from the bike and received many life threatening injuries.
He is recovering but the extend of his injuries are unknown at this time. He may not be able to shoot a DR for a long time or possibly ever due to a concussion he received.
The authorities believe it might have been a suicide as the man was seen jumping into traffic according eye witness reports.
Believe me when I say, this man had a special kind of stupid; a type which he decided to share with someone else.
My family is in shock and rage over this.
I thought I should pass this information on, as he is a fellow DR'er and forum member.

A terrible tragedy.
So sad when the destructive actions of one individual affect others.
May he have a full and speedy recovery.

Pass on my best wishes.
I've been on the bike since I was a kid and have seen more than my share of this kind of trouble.
Might be time for him to look into a rimfire or hornet double rifle to keep him fresh for when he's well enough again to shoot the big bore guns!!

Hey gang!
I want to thank each and every one for your heart felt sympathy. It really does lift my spirits. I'm going to be out of commission for the next 3 months as my right arm is broken in three places, but miraculous the rest of my body is uninjured, albeit a bit bruised up. No brain damage thanks to my helmet. I'm out of work for the next 6 weeks so that give me plenty of time to chat with you fellows.

Colorado/Bonanza,
Apologies for the late post and thanks for the good news. Hope the recovery is fast and you're back to enjoying riding a motorcycle again. About 8 years ago I broke my knee and it took 6 months to heal - they day they took the plaster and bandages off, I got back onto my bike and rode around the neighbourhood just to reassure myself that I was OK. Hope you get back in the saddle as soon as you're fine.

That is upsetting news, but I am glad to see Bonanza is on the mend.
I've been out of commission myself the last couple of weeks with a torn up knee requiring surgery, but nothing like that.
Prayers and best wishes for your speedy, and complete, recovery.

Hi Bonanza
Sorry to have missed the train on this one but belated best wishes for a full and speedy recovery from this side of the Atlantic, hope all goes well over the coming weeks and you are soon able to heft those guns aloft.
At least you will be able to use the coming weeks to plan further shooting sorties
Take care
