John will spend the evening of the 1st September at my house. We intend to have the first NE members party in RSA that evening.
Any member that will be in the Pretoria area on that day is welcome to attend. The more the merrier.
Let me know who can attend.
Erik, you better get into your Landy and get your wife to start driving.
Christer, you left a month to early, you will miss out big time.

Seems to me we will have a good get together. Steve also indicated that he might be able to adjust his schedule.
DoubleD it is good news that you will also be able to make it.
I have ebough parking, bring along whatever you want to share, your spouses are also more than welcome.
I'll comunicate with you all via email, don't want John to know about everything . Only joking John.

Unfortunately, I cannot attend (still in Namibia till the 8th of September), but I trust that Nitrox will have some nice pics to show you guys of our hunt together a fortnight before that. Hope you enjoy!!! (BTW a Landy does not qualify as a 4x4...)

Come on guys stop arguing what is the best 4X4, living long enough in Africa you all should know the best 4X4 is a COMPANY CAR

Although a Land Rover owner, I reluctantly have to agree with you guys... Toyotas rule in the longrun.
Jaco, I must admit that you have left me little time to drive down for a braai. After all, it took us a year to drive down last time! So I will have to take a rain check for this one, and come down next time instead.

Although I am a confirmed Landcruiser guy, I am always amazed at the places you can get a rented car into.

Thanks to Jaco for offering to organise a dinner or braai. It wil be great to meet some of the NE people living in South Africa, around the Pretoria/Jo'bug area.
By the time we have the get together my African hunting will be over after a week or so in Namibia with Karl and a week in the Omay. Hopefully a few thousand photos on a very small camera screen to keep us busy. Some video footage but I might have all of that yet at that time.
It should be fun.
PS My Landcruiser might get a little wet if coming over that way, so hitchhiking by air might be better!

PPS - If anyone has tried to send me emails, recently they probably got bounced back as my email capacity was overloaded with people sending 6 Mb files!

Nitrox, Bring along the cable for your camera, while you are here we can download all your photos on a CD. I believe we will go through the hunt over and over and over, can only be a pleasure. We can watch the video as well, will be great to see it.
Get a snorkel for the cruiser and scuba for yourself It might be a cold and wet trip.
We will give you a taste of some of SA's wines and if you behave we might spoil you with some homemade Kudu boerewors .

BUGGERIT!!!!!!!
Sorry Bwana John, I've had to change my travel plans again and now travel to Dar on the 15th of August and probably won't get home again until late September at the earliest....... I've had problems this year with the SA home affairs dept and they keep making me change my plans and incidentally, costing us a bloody fortune!........ Anyway, have a good time in Africa in general and at the piss up in particular and I'll raise a glass to absent friends at 9 pm SA time..... and hope thay you'll all do likewise. Leopard hunting etc allowing, I'll try to call Jaco on my sat phone just to say hi/sawbona/jambo/gidday.

I'm counting on you guys posting photos of the bash (at least the ones that won't incriminate anyone).

And I'm expecting the incriminating ones sent to my private e-mail for future use. In case someone gets out of hand here one day, and needs a spanking!

No incriminating photos will be given out. It will remain my property to turn on the screws whenever possible
I think the most incriminating photos will be the oohs and aahs when John brags about his hunt.
We do have a couple off tricks up our sleeves for John, but that will stay a secret for the time being.
OK, I am off hunting see'ya the 13th
John enjoy the trip, we can't wait till the 1st

I'll pitch up in my wife's Renault to stay out of the 4X4 fight but I'll make sure that I have enough Dark Rum with me.

Jaco, hope there is more space available for me at your party. I was supposed to still be up in "Nam" (Namibia), till the 8th, but hunt was moved to next year, so I am free now to join your party. Of course, I can at least tell you if Nitrox's hunting stories of his Namibian part of the trip is the truth...!

Ndumo, You are more than welcome, send me a mail and I can forward all the info to you. It will be good to have you with us. With you there we will find out of all John's mishaps and punish him with some "Hakiesdraad". He will have no way of backing out
