I think but that as member of the Prussian rifle commission I would also have rejected this cartridge, especially if one consider the types of powder that were available at the time.
The cartridge, except the bullet, reminds me a little of the cartridge 5,6x61 S.E. vom Hofe, which also caused some problems and still does at times.
