My "Old" M70 Super Express .375 H&H
      #34743 - 17/07/05 05:28 AM

Hi all:
Not controlled feeding & Monte Carlo stock, but a real tack-driver.
Fits nicely in the hands, doesn't it?
Weatherby 1.75-5x 20 Supreme scope.
No plans to take on dangerous game, so I think I'll survive.

Cheers,
P.

Nice looking piece. I'd use it for DG if the opportunity ever came up.

What brand of bases and rings are on this rifle?

Thanks.
They're Buehler scope mounts and rings.
Cheers,
P

All you gotta do now is go out and whack something and blood it properly.

That is a nice looking rifle.

475Guy,
I finally got around to "blooding" my .375 yesterday. The only thing open was varmints. Have you ever seen what a 270 gr Speer @ about 2600-2700 fps does to a prairie dog at about 60 yards? It was a mess.

You ought to see what a 300 gr JHP for a 45/70 loaded in a 458 Lott does to varmints. Talk about red mist and splash. This particular load was clocked at only 2500 but looked like it was falling apart before hitting the critter.

Pauldoe,

That rifle will serve you well.

475Guy,

Yep a 405gr Rem FP in a 458 Lott is pretty impressive on ground squirrels and rock chucks.

John

It probably looked like a hairy doughnut.
