hi guys and gals
im looking at buying a ruger no 1 for a custom rifle build
it is currently in 375 h&h mag
im going to rebarrel any action i get
this particuler ruger has had about 500 rounds through it
would this amount of ammo have caused any wear etc to the action?

I have never kept a round count on any of my No. 1's but I would bet no problem with 500 rounds.

500 rounds is nothing, barely a start.

500?

I shot the throat out of a 375H&H on a Mauser and I can assure you, 500 round is insignificant.

I've run at least 800 rounds through my #1 .303 Brit. Still as tight as ever.

Steve - I actually did that with a .458 on a M98 Mauser but it took over 15,000 rounds & the cartilage destroyed in my right shoulder. Many of them were with non-annealed bullets made from .303 and .250 Savage brass. I expect those might have accelerated things a bit.
Regular cup and core or cast - NP.

Well hunta while it may not be in the H&H class of furniture, your .375, is certainly in a very stout & lovingly secure gunbox. A lot of hours went into that piece, and far better than I could possibly accomplish that's for sure!
