Hello the crew.
Well it looks like I own a WW Greener 12 Bore rifle.
I was at the Game Fair in London over the weekend, and a WW Greener 12 Bore rifle followed me home.
Hammer Gun
Damascus Steel Barrels
Recent Birmingham nitro proof
Jones underlever
Fully rifled bores
3 Leaf sight.
12x65 chambers
Antique (Pre 1898 )
Now what?
Anybody got any info ?
I have sent an email to Graham Greener, but gun came with no info.
So bullet weight and style and dram requirements are a mystery.
Should be fun.

Wow! I would first check the rifling twist rate. That and the gun weight will tell you if it is a round ball gun or a elongated bullet.

WOW - am excited to find out 'things' about this rifle!
At the muzzles, the twist appears quite slow with no discernible angle so I suspect (hope) for round ball twist.
WW Greener knew well about rifling matching the projectiles - as well as chokes.
Sweet! It's been well cared for.

Excellent condition bore rifle - it looks quite early with those hammers, I have a Howdah pistol (posted somewhere here) with similar - these early doubles are most attractive, you have a gem!
I am sure you will have much fun getting a good load for it, Daryl's Round Ball loads may be a good start

Now the long process of getting her home.
And then me getting home too, i still have a year on my contract in Europe.
Then the fun begins.
Maybe I can find this Grand lady a European friend before i cross the pond for the last time.

That is going to be fun.
Should there not be info on the table or underside of the tubes at least for what it was proofed for?
Greener's original stamping should also be there as well, I'd think.

Unfortunately not.
In a 2015 Christies listing it says 4 Dramms of powder incribed in barrel.
but my recollection is nothing on barrels or watertable.
Just BP proofs and the new NP proofs.
No problem all partof the adventure.

4 drams would make an excellent deer, hog and black bear load - using Swiss 1 1/2F, of course. That is only 109gr.
Appears an early gun, so likely for round ball?
Sure nice looking colour case on the action.
