The combination rear scope mount base and receiver sight base is ingenious and the execution throughout is superlative.

I just finished a nice Krag myself but I have not been able to figure out how to post pics.
Photobucket has become too invasive in their demands for personal information, so I stopped using them, but I know of no other way to post.

its allways said the norwegian Krag is not strong enough for modern 6,5x55 ammo what will you shoot, handloads?

Norma 6.5x55 is loaded to CIP (Euro) specs or at least seems to be. That would be 55,000psi(pezio). SAAMI is 51,000SPI pezio ie: 46,000CUP.

Interestingly, the serial # on szihn's Krag and my grandfather's old-school "custom" Krag aren't that far apart.
Szihn's Krag, by the way, is beautiful, as is the 6.5mm Norwegian Krag that started this thread.
The look of these Krag rifles, when given an upscale transformation by a talented 'smith, is just awesome - and that's before you get to their practical killing power on big game.
